Remembering the How and the What

Off to the nearby national park for an overnighter. It's a shame to admit, but much of the gear hasn't been out for real in almost two years.

LINK Site Up and Running, originally uploaded by Rollofunk.

The proper LINK site went online today, unfortunately only in Finnish for now, and with minor bugs, but hopefully I get to finish the work and do some translating after the holidays. www.linkdesign.fi

Context, In or Out of?

Context, In or Out of?, originally uploaded by Rollofunk.

The main business daily in a slightly underground rock club.

Acts last night included Candy Garden, some band I forgot the name of and The Monday Box. First and especially last were good sets.

Time Lapse Test

Out the bedroom window between 15:30 and 21:30, 5min in between shots. Need to space them a bit tighter next time.

Signs of Passing By

Maybe the oldest motif of human artistry. Cavemen left their hand marks on walls to show they were there, and some genetic memory still makes people do it tens of thousands of years later.

Thank's to IƱaki and all the others for hosting a great summer party! Good food and drinks as always, and plenty of interesting people. Plus party twitter open for all guests.

Personal Snow Cannon?

Personal Snow Cannon?, originally uploaded by Rollofunk.

Usually things with similar design DNA are making snow for ski slopes. This, however, seems to be a regular indoor fan. Go figure.

Volunteer Fire Brigade Competition

Yesterday in Hakaniemi. What was interesting to note was the methodical and calm actions of these guys, even they were in a race against the clock and other teams. It doesn't help to run and panic when situations get really serious, as they often do in this business.

Lost Buttons

Lost Buttons, originally uploaded by Rollofunk.

Got my trusty work tablet updated on the software side, and somehow the use of the four buttons below the screen was lost in the process. Those are pretty essential when you work in tablet mode, rotating the screen image, hitting alt+ctrl+del without keybord access and so on. I had to dig pretty deep into the C: -drive to find the software switch turning them on again.

Point is, one of the buttons opens said software, so you can easily turn the buttons off, but after that there's no obvious way to turn them back on again. Once again, a product where a big red panic undo button would be needed.

Golf Specific Energy Drink

Golf Specific Energy Drink, originally uploaded by Rollofunk.

So, can I attribute my poor performance at the climbing rock today to the lack of a bouldering specific energy drink then?

Appeared downstairs in Kaisaniemi. Seems kind of an odd mix of planned and unplanned elements, and been deserted whenever I go past.

Path on a Wall

Path on a Wall, originally uploaded by Rollofunk.

A temperature drop of about 20 degrees in four days keeps me from digging out the old shoes and chalk bag for now. Still, the Meilahti wall looked pretty tempting when we rode past it with Mikko on tuesday.

Contrast, Please

Contrast, Please, originally uploaded by Rollofunk.

Nice info screen map for viewing in the dark, but recently the bright weather is really bringing out the worst aspects of these. For some uses old skool ink on paper (and maybe a light behind it) just works best.
