The famously under-advertised Helsinki Design Week is underway again, so we dropped by the annual Design Market at Kaapelitehdas to have a look. Mostly it was the usual "clever" jewelry, high-contrast prints, recycle design and obscure tiny fashion labels. However, finally there seems to be one or two serious brands rising up above the mass here. Walked out with a couple of good deals.

The whole stencil thing felt like there wasn't much new or variety to it for a long time. However, it seems that some people, like JussiTwoSeven, the artist behind this piece, have just kept the good stuff out of view.

Porsche GT2 down in the harbour tonight. Street legal (barely), I guess. A bit of HDR thrown in too.

The good people down in Punavuori threw a blockparty tonight. A bit of rain kept things cool, and the tunes were suitably street credible. Here's a bit of Uusi Fantasia wrapping up the party.

Among all these oh-so-trendy fixies and singlespeeds I must say I respect people who go all the way in the retro department. Classy paint job too.

The 14-45mm lens was put to test on the local trails. The light was fading fast, so some faster glass would have been nice, but the wide end of the zoom is pretty good length-wise. Wonder if Pana is planning a faster 14mm prime, as some people are speculating? The 8mm fisheye would have been good fun tonight too.

Seams tell a lot about the design and manufacturing quality of any product. Porsche's got those seams pretty well handled.
