Whisky Tasting @Punavuoren Ahven, 28. 4.
Single malt friends gathered again after a bit of a break. The menu of the evening:
-Bunnahabhain 31 yo, Signatory Vintage
-Laphroaig 18 yo OMC Douglas Laing
-Bruichladdich Port Charlotte, An Turas Mor
-Ardbeg Supernova 2010
-Bruichladdich Octomore Orpheus 5 yo
Of these the Bunnahabhain and Orpheus were my favourites. The first due to maturity and depth of taste, the latter due to sheer strangeness and promise of great future bottlings if they can keep this course.

Generations
Will the one on the left last as long as the right one has? They show the same direction, at least. The 1940's model wasn't even that heavy to carry, after all.

PDP Product Design Gala 2011
Annual display of multidisciplinary student creativity at Design Factory. Inspiring stuff as always, and some very good prototypes as well this year. Especially the teams behind the Aether and I See had done a great job, I think.

Moisture Measurer's Toolbox
Seems the last few winters of heavy snow have made water to seep into the attic, and from there into our outer wall. No serious amounts detected, but it won't go away by itself so needs to be taken care of eventually. Bugger.
Xperia X10i
Lisa got herself a new phone yesterday. I like the design, and SE's take on Android is pretty good, but the Android Market was a letdown. We tried to buy a dictionary app, but ended up having to download the trial version and then purchasing the software key from the publisher's website. First time in the Market for either of us, and the impression was not very good. Even Nokia's much ridiculed Ovi store has worked flawlessly for me until now.

Field of View Issue
Today at Pasila station we found a usability issue with the platform screens: For about 3-4 meters underneath the viewing angle makes the screen go blank, and no other screens close enough to see upcoming train info. Even the TV at home is clear when viewing from the side, why not public screens?
