An energy saver lightbulb: Buying it makes you feel all good and caring. Saving mother earth one little step at a time, and stuff like that. All good, until you consider:
-Unproportionally big plastic package compared to the product. You can transport more regular bulbs in regular square boxes, so this has a bigger ecological impact throughout the logistics chain and final disposal.
-You need to cut the package to remove the product, leaving the paper inside behind sharp plastic edges, should you want to dispose it separately.
-Will you ever have the same light for ten years?
And yes, I bought it and feel very much like a tree hugger, thank you very much.
