In tasting order, actually. Rumor had it that the next tasting event will concentrate on Ardbegs.

Whisky Tasting @Punavuoren Ahven
Cheers! I may not know much about art, but I know what I like, to quote the pope from Monty Python. The setup tonight was from left to right: Bunnahabhain Darach Ur, Lagavulin Distiller's Edition 1991, Laphroaig Quarter Cask, Caol Ila OMC bottled by Douglas Laing 1979/2007 and Ardbeg Supernova.
My favourite was definately the Caol Ila, which age and maturity-wise was in a category of it's own of course. Pretty sublime stuff. However, the Bunnahabhain was also a very pleasant surprise, totally different from the 12 year old I've had before. Lot's of character even without the smokiness usually present in Islay single malts.

Designing Services
Flashback to last Friday, when I attended a lecture by prof. Birgit Mager. Not surprisingly the theme was Service Design, and even less surprisingly all the methods she described were the same we use for user centered product design at work.

Spectre
Had an excellent work related day trip to Oulu today. Can't say more on the subject, though. Design and product development is a shady business sometimes.

New & Fresh
Some pretty cool jewelry. Too bad the name of the designer escaped me, but clearly one of the best pieces on show.
MoA 2010: DIY
The yearly Masters of Arts exhibition has moved significantly closer to home for me, and the new venue gave it a fresh feeling that's been lacking these last years. Hardcore industrial design projects were all but absent, main focus was on more artsy stuff. A new thing was participatory exhibits, where the audience is expected to draw and write on the pieces. Wonder if the students themselves were aware so many had this same idea? The curating felt a bit sloppy this way.

Like a Glove @Nosturi
Just got home, ears still ringing from the gig. Myspace here. Catch them live if you can.

Chess Norms
Apparently it's advisable to slam those chess pieces onto the intended square, rather than just shuffle them around. That's how the old timers seem to be doing it, at least.

Sunburst
Finally some decent weather to take out the new lens in. I got it mainly for outdoor use anyway. So far no complaints, but I wouldn't perhaps want to fit anything physically bigger on the tiny GF1 frame.

Tag
Apparently 210 years old, and will probably stay there until the next ice age smooths the granite some more. How long will the tags and graffiti of the last decades last? Not as long, I'll wager.

New Glass
Pana 14-45 (28-90 equivalent). Basically an easy route to get a bit more flexibility for general street photography, and maybe a single lens that's needed when hiking as well.
