Rumors held true, and Ardbeg tasting was conducted. From left to right: Blasda, 10 yo, Supernova SN2010, Uigeadail and Single Cask n:o 1378 1975/2006.
The Single Cask was in a league of it's own, at least feeling-wise. Ardbeg has only a few casks left from the 70's before the distillery was closed for a long period, so there will be a long gap before whisky this old can be bottled again. The guess was that a bottle of this particular liquid gold would go for around 650-700€, if you could even find one. Luckily the local importer was present and wanted to give us something really good.
On a mere mortal scale, I'd pick the Uigeadail though. Surprising depth and character when you consider that the components of this particular bottling (2009) are at most 12 years old. Might have to get me a bottle, if I happen to come across one.
