That's around where we'll find ourselves by tomorrow night, a couple of airlines and SNCF willing. Off to check out Valéries and Davids country house over easter.

Master of Buttons
LINK celebrated its first year of operations last night, and since I was participating in our campus radio project back in uni several years ago I was seen fit to provide music for the event (luckily only a playlist). Mastering the mixing table at Korjaamo was a bit of a challenge. It wouldn't hurt if it had a big red panic button, as so many other pieces of quality machinery I get to interact with via work.

Hibernating
I don't think that one's going to look very good once it thaws. If it's still afloat, that is.

Protected
Looks a bit improvised made out of a piece of plank, but still nice finish and functionality. Spotted in Kamppi.

Kaffa Espresso v3.3
Finally got around to making a cup out of the Kaffa I got for Christmas. About time too. Very smooth and good consistency crema, and flavour wasn't bad either. A bit on the bitter side, but still within the boundaries of tasteful. Good stuff, all in all.

Hello, Old Friend
Located in one of the Asian markets around Hakaniemi. Long time no see. Basically, it's cold coffee in a can, which is something perfectly natural in Japan. Also, I basically don't like it because of the taste but because of the whole concept. I mean, if someone bothers to produce cold canned coffee, then the least I can do is reward them for the absurd effort. Personally I prefer the Wonda Morning Shot, mainly because they ran a lot of easily understandable commercials for it when I first stayed in Japan, but this store only had two Suntory flavours in the shelf. Still a trip down memory lane.

Snap On
My new Ortileb Snap worked just as well as I hoped. Attached snugly to the chest belt on the backpack, where it's in the perfect position for getting the camera out quickly while still keeping the gear waterproof. Also took the wight off when having the camera strap around my neck(not that the GF1 is heavy, but still).
Making Lunch
The sun was already pretty warm, so all the water I carried went to drinking. The few centimeters of recent fresh snow made for good noodle soup liquid.
Essentials
Gaiters and snowshoes. The gaiters are nearing the end of their useful life, though, so need to start looking for new ones soon. The snowshoes were near perfect for today's snow conditions, once I got the hang of walking with them again after about five years. Always knew it was worth keeping them.
As Good As It Gets
Warm sun, a bit of new snow on top of all the old one, not much wind and the whole day off. The old snowshoes I've never used since moving back south were dug out and put to good use in the friendly neighborhood national park of Nuuksio.

Nobody's Looking
BMX park had an ongoing jam, but little audience. No big wheels around either, as far as i could see.
Printing Golf Balls
Golf section of the fair was a bit larger than last year. Sign of better times? Spotted this funky printer doing an inkjet like job on the 3D surface of a golf ball. If it's hard wearing pigment, that machine could have lot's of uses.
Gnarliest Frame on Show
Not sure about the maker, but anyone who thinks up making a DH frame out of H-beam aluminum instead of tube should be given serious respect, and maybe a little distance if encountered on the trail.
Trek Drivetrain
Spent a couple of hours today at GoExpo, mainly checking out new bike stuff. Sure spring sign.
Trek had brought in some new belt drive models, but couldn't catch anyone to explain why that's better than an old fashioned chain.

Heavy Duty Ice tool
I know some people are getting frustrated with the proper winter this year, but this is the first time I've seen someone bring out a concrete drill for clearing the street of ice.

Gray
Nothing significant about this image, except for the fact that there is now enough light to take it even after coming home from work in the grayest and most wet winter weather imaginable. Go spring!
